Puerto Rico is crazy if you think about it. People are out there living as US citizens within an entirely different set of laws and regulations and everything. It is not a US state, it's a Commonwealth, an unincorporated territory? Like what actually be happening out there?

And Hawaii is fucking like that too kind of, but it is a state. I can't imagine what it would be like to not live on the mainland although the mainland is just a big ass island as well but you catch what I'm saying.

I went to the Bahamas and I'm not sure whether it was the period of time when I was visiting or if this is a general day-to-day but there were rolling brownouts the whole fucking time. And it seemed to be OK with everyone, which leads me to believe that this is an all too common occurrence.

I wonder if Puerto Ricans are like "free us". Like do they enjoy being US citizens, paying federal taxes and Medicare, not getting to vote and having virtually no representation in government? Do they wanna be freed? Would they be more excited under a British rule or French rule, like how did this happen, I could look it up but I'd prefer not to because I never meant to think about this in the first place.
